Mount Sapo takes its name from a mythical mountain near Rome, storied to be the birthplace of soap and human bathing rituals. The brand was founded by Serena Wise in September 2021, two weeks after the birth of her daughter, after years as an art director in London left her feeling increasingly disassociated from her body. The line she built in response is deliberately small: two products, both multi-use, both organic, both made to be used on the face and body without distinction.

Everything is handmade in small batches in the UK from 100% natural, organic plant oils, certified by the COSMOS Soil Association, and entirely vegan. The All-Over Oil draws on eighteen botanicals; the All-Rounder Balm on twenty-seven. The 1970s-inflected packaging, orange and brown with a gumball-machine font, is as considered as the formulas inside.
