Hunter × Burn Still Life Bud Vase

Each of these hand-formed ceramic bud vases carries a sculptural presence despite its intimate scale. The rims fold and ripple like fabric caught mid-motion, while looped handles gesture toward classical urns, distilled into something softer and more enigmatic. Their chalk-white glaze heightens the play of light across subtle planes and textures, making the vessel as compelling empty as it is holding a single stem.

Lucy Hunter, the London floral designer known as The Floral Hunter, extends her painterly sensibility into clay, approaching form much like she does flowers—through instinct, atmosphere, and texture. For this collaboration, she worked with New Zealand potter Jane Burn, whose practice is rooted in material exploration and expressive making. Together, they have created a numbered series of 25 vases that blur the line between object and gesture, past and present.
