Cast Iron Indonesian Gasing Top No. 3
A traditional spinning top—known locally as a gasing—crafted from cast iron and suar wood, with a hand-painted bullseye pattern in bold primary hues. Originating from Lombok, Indonesia, these tops were historically used in men’s competitions by the Sasak people and are among the world’s oldest known games. Today, they’re often mounted and displayed as sculptural objects, their vibrant concentric rings and patina embodying both play and craft.
