Cane Dusting Brush

Tampico comes from the heart leaves of Agave lechuguilla, a spiny desert plant that grows in the high-altitude barrens of northern Mexico and nowhere else. Indigenous communities have harvested it by hand for centuries, the methods largely unchanged. What results is a fiber that is simultaneously soft and gritty — smooth enough to clean the inside of a leather bag without marking it, rough enough to dislodge real grime from a garden tool. Tia Harrington of Husk Brooms wraps the handle in woven cane and finishes it with a brown leather hanging loop. It earns a permanent spot on the hook by the back door.
