Brass Flying Goose Ashtray

A hexagonal ashtray in brass-tone metal, the well cast in relief with a flying goose in profile, wings extended. The rim is stepped, with a narrow ledge running along two opposing sides suited to resting a cigarette. The surface shows a warm, aged brass patina throughout.

Sporting motifs on cast brass barware were a fixture of the mid-century English gentleman's study: ducks, pheasants, fox.
