Green Hand-Blown Glass Spout Bowl with Brown Rim

Andrew Iannazzi has been working in hot glass full time for twenty years, out of his own studio in Cambridge, MA. His reference points are Italian and Scandinavian glassmaking tradition and American popular imagery, a combination that shows up clearly in his collection: classic silhouettes with a nostalgic, slightly irreverent edge.

The form is wide and low, with a spout pinched from the rim during the off-hand blow. The contrasting lip color is worked in during the same session, two separate colors of molten glass handled together before the piece cools. It pours as well as it sits, pancake batter on a Sunday morning, popcorn for a crowd, a good vinaigrette. These colorways were developed exclusively for Wentworth.
