Intaglio Paperweight No. 2
Bridie Hall’s intaglio paperweight traces its lineage to the 19th-century fascination with decorative utility. Paperweights emerged as objects of innovation and artistry at London’s Great Exhibition of 1851, prized for combining ornament and everyday function. This version revives that tradition through a contemporary lens, cast by hand in Jesmonite and finished in her London studio.
Each piece carries the air of the Grand Tour—the neoclassical keepsakes collected as tokens of culture and curiosity. It serves both as desk adornment and modern relic, a small act of order amid the paper and pace of daily life.
