Ochiba Candle
Ochiba evokes the spirit of an ancient forest with coniferous trees and a tapestry of fallen leaves. Rain blows from one direction, whilst a trail of incense from a temple floats softly from the other, filling the air with a transportive and deeply meditative scent. In the distance, smoke rises softly from a chimney… Inspired by 8th century stemcups, Ochiba's elegantly drawn vessel is characterized by a footed base, raised band, and flared rim. Poured and fired from fine white porcelain, the vessel is coated internally in a transparent glaze with a matte exterior - after burning, it can be repurposed as a vase for stems or a decorative object.
