Of Gardens Candle
Made from white stoneware, the Of Gardens candle vessel is fired in an English pottery and poured with fragranced wax. After burning the candle, the vessel can be repurposed as a vase for flowers or a decorative receptacle.
Of Gardens is an ode to Francis Bacon’s eponymous 1625 essay, a paean to the pleasures of a garden ablaze with flowers. It is a bouquet of citrus and floral scents: top notes of bergamot blend with lemon and neroli, which mingle in turn with a base of musk and sandalwood; at its core lies a beating heart of orange blossom, jasmine, and tuberose, infusing it with an array of scents both subtle and intoxicating. In line with Bacon’s assertion that ‘there ought to be gardens for all the months of the year’, Of Gardens is timeless, with a simple loveliness that flourishes in both the throes of springtime and the frosts of winter.
