Pot Scrubber

Broomcorn is a sorghum grass — stiff-stalked, wispy at the end, grown for the tassel. As a scrubbing fiber it has no real equivalent: the stiffness grabs, the flexibility gives, and it doesn't shred or pill the way synthetic pads do. Wound tight in black nylon cordage at four inches across, these are sized for cast iron and nothing else is really needed. Add a little water to a hot pan, bring it up, work in circles, rinse. The scrubber stands upright to dry between uses. Tia Harrington makes them in Pittsburgh from broomcorn grown with local farms.
