Pyotr Rock Crystal Paper Knife
Giberto named the Pyotr for Pyotr Alekseyevich, Peter the Great, and for the Russian world where objects of strength and ceremony were made with a jeweler's hand. This version is cut entirely from clear Madagascar rock crystal, the hilt set with a ruby root in vermeil. It took trusted stone suppliers in Madagascar and Venetian artisans working together to make it, an object Giberto describes as delicate yet masculine, and a reflection of his love of fine jewels and unlikely pairings.
Giberto Venezia is the Venetian house of Giberto Arrivabene, whose family home is Palazzo Papadopoli on the Grand Canal. Working with Murano's glassblowers and the city's artisans, the house makes glass, stone and objects for the table drawn from Venice's decorative past. Through December 31, Giberto Venezia is in residence at No. 162 Wentworth.
