Quatrefold Candle Wall Sconce

A single folded plane of nickel-plated iron, bent into four facets that catch and return the candlelight. The form borrows from the quatrefoil, a motif that has been pressed into stone tracery and ironwork since the Gothic cathedrals of medieval France. Here it shows up in shadow, the flame throwing petal-shaped light across the wall behind it. A double-mount backing holds the sconce slightly proud of the surface.
