Purple Slag Glass Vase No. 1

Slag glass was a happy accident of early industrial glassmaking, molten color folded into clear glass before either had fully set. This pedestal vase came out a deep, swirling amethyst: part plum, part storm cloud, threaded with lavender where the light catches the fluted sides. The scalloped rim and turned foot are pure period charm, and no two examples ever look quite alike.
