Yellow Wrapped Candy Glass Ornament

Sale price$50.00

In the small workshops of Poland, the Morawski family continues a centuries-old tradition of glassmaking. Each ornament begins as molten glass, mouth-blown into shape by artisans whose skill is measured not in years, but in generations. Once cooled, they are hand-painted in delicate layers of color and gilt, a process that transforms each piece into a tiny work of art.

Founded in 1992, Morawski remains a family-run atelier, beloved by collectors and luxury houses alike for designs that balance old-world craftsmanship with a touch of whimsy. No two ornaments are ever exactly the same. Subtle variations in brushstroke, tone, and finish are not imperfections, but signatures of the hands that made them.

Material: Mouth-blown glass, hand-painted
Dimensions: Varies by design (approx. 3–6" height)
Finish: Hand-applied pigments and metallic accents; slight variations make each piece unique
Care Instructions: Handle with care and store in protective box when not in use.

Heritage in Glass

The Morawski Story

Marek Morawski in a thermometer factory, 1980s.

The Morawski story begins in Łódź, where Marek Morawski first worked in a thermometer factory. After hours, he experimented with glass not as a technician, but as an artist — shaping drops with beating hearts inside, delicate flowers, and forms born of imagination. That quiet pursuit grew into a family atelier in the early 1990s, just as Poland was opening to the world. Within a few short years, Morawski ornaments were adorning the White House Christmas tree, displayed at MoMA, and commissioned by collectors and cultural icons alike.

Three decades on, Morawski Ornaments remains entirely family-run. Every piece is mouth-blown, silvered from within, and hand-painted in the Łódź workshop, often in editions so limited that only a handful are made in a day. The process has never been streamlined or outsourced; it is sustained by the same devotion to craft that first drew Marek to the flame. Today, alongside his children and artisans of more than twenty years, he continues to create ornaments that carry not just color and shimmer, but the enduring legacy of Polish glassmaking.
