Designed to sit neatly across a standard residential stair, this handwoven rattan tote turns the inevitable upstairs pile into something worth leaving in view. Its stepped profile fits a 7.5-inch stair rise, while the tall wrapped handle makes it easy to carry from floor to floor.

The form draws from the rattan revival of the 1970s and ’90s, with an open weave that keeps the basket light but remarkably sturdy. Each piece is woven by hand in Maine and New York using mature Indonesian rattan, then finished with non-toxic dyes absorbed directly into the plant fiber.
